This is for the Bologna Book Fair’s Haiku Contest. Participants had to pick a haiku, then illustrate it in one long, horizontal panel, or 3 square panels. Here is my poorly photomerged drawing and finish. The finish is done with ink, watercolor and acrylic on watercolor paper. My haiku was:

Filled with the smell of green grass
My thought is driven to dreams of warriors
Those who passed away in battle.

One of my pieces was chosen to be included in the Tate Publishing National Illustration Competition online gallery and published catalog. It will be released in March of this year!

So my design for that poster contest didn’t win. Apparently there were 1,200 entries. So I kind of felt like submitting it to threadless. Vote for me?
