man man

Friday, March 27th, 2009

I picked a song by Man Man called Black Mission Goggles to illustrate, not realizing it was about cocaine use (or so i suspect). I like them a lot, their music is kind of circus and fair like, with seemingly random lyrics. Here is my original drawing and the final. I thought about making the girl a more energetic/happy cocaine user, but then I decided she should look more like a content/poised addict, rather than this being a one time thing. I also got rid of the mirror because it was bumming me out a little.

work in progress

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

So here is part of the animation I’m working on with the 3 good people mentioned two posts ago. It’s missing about 5 seconds at the end, and what you’re looking at isn’t done either. Just wanted to share…

news

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Some news:
- My work has been selected as a runner-up by Creative Quarterly, and can be viewed online once the issue is released.
- My peace soldier animation is apparently being shown to the president of MTV for a possible collaboration.
- Ana Mouyis, Erik Carter, Ray Masaki and I have been chosen to create a collaborative viral video for Speakercraft.
- I just finished up another piece for MadAtoms, one for Plan B Magazine, and I re-did the water illustration mentioned in the post below. You can find them on my main portfolio site.

Contrary to the good things above, here’s something crappy that won’t amount to anything.

water

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

This was for a short story about water, and a boy who’s skin turns red and raw from it. I’m not completely happy with it, so I’m going to redo it in a few days, but I thought I’d post it anyway to keep the cobwebs from growing.
