It’s been a while. I’ve been working a bit for Robert Greene whose opening is May 5th at Robert Miller Gallery. Now that I have some more free time…I’ve started painting! I guess my job has finally infiltrated my personal work. This is on black paper and it’s pretty big, too. I need a studio.
In other news, I’ll have three illustrations + some type in the June issue of Bitch Magazine for a story about Courtney Love’s family history of maternal loss. Apparently the past 4 generations of women in her family have voluntarily or involuntarily lost custody of their daughters. What a vicious and strange cycle.

Learned Mothering Tip #1: Do not put your daughter in a chicken coop when she’s having a tantrum, no matter how much you think it will calm her down.
Learned Mothering Tip #2: Do not write a memoir about your Mother’s mistakes while simultaneously defending your own identical ones.
I’ll post some images of the spreads once I get them since the last two spots will sort of interact across the page. Should be cool.
This is kind of a departure from my usual style, but I needed to do something different, experimental and fun. I wanted to draw something new and in color since everything I’ve been doing for the last four months with my zine was in black and white, and decided to make something based on a little row boat trip I took this summer in the archipelago of Finland. There were a ton of small islands with one baby house + dock on them. Kind of surreal.
